Hot Chocolate Recipe

Today I tried a version of the hot chocolate recipe I observed at the Lake Champlain Chocolates factory.
I forgot that there were to be three tablespoons of chocolate chip thingies and used only two tablespoons of regular chocolate chips. I put them, 1 teaspoon of cocoa powder, and 3/4 cup skim milk into a small pan. I then heated this on the stove while stirring with a wire whisk until warm, mixed and melted.
The chocolate chips never quite mixed in all the way, and this turns out to be a much smaller cup of hot chocolate than I usually have at home, but it was delicious and very chocolaty. The chocolate chips I used are leftover from a huge bag of cheapo chocolate chips I bought before I switched to organic fair-trade chocolate, so I’ll let you know if it works better with different (fresher, higher quality) chocolate chips.
Meanwhile, I prefer Godiva’s hot cocoa mix (which is not labeled as fair trade). But even if I never figure out how to get the chocolate chips to melt properly, I do think this is a good way to get very rich, dark hot chocolate when you're in the mood. Especially if you have a dishwasher, but even if you don't.
