Too slow, too late, too variable
May. 3rd, 2006 07:05 pmToday's most interesting work problem:
A department added a new course to the schedule. The final approval on the paperwork happened at 4:15 Friday afternoon. I did not see that in time to process it for my system.
By Sunday a student was able to register for the course, run a degree audit, and freak out that it was wrong.
**
Today I learned that Vermont is from the French for green mountain (vert mont).
We got plane tickets, so the trip now seems real to me, like it really is going to happen! Unfortunately, the day after we got the tickets, Robin found out that one of the three concerts is being moved earlier, before he'll be there. Just because the singer wants to go to a wedding!
We're flying into and out of Burlington, a college town on Lake Champlain. And even though we're coming in on different days we did get the same flight out, and we do get to be in adjacent seats. So that's nice.
I've been trying to decide whether to drive all around New England seeing important sites or just hang in Burlington for some quality time.
I'm definitely driving to Massachusetts to meet the writer of my favorite blog. So I think I'll drive there and back by different routes, stopping to look at important sites, and then spend the rest of the trip exploring the Burlington area, which sounds like just my cup of tea (except in the cold weather).
**
I generally gain weight at the gym. And it's all muscle.
Well, okay, water. Since water weighs 8 pounds per gallon, it's amazing that my weight fluctuates as little as it does. Last time I tried several times in one visit, just to see, and I had a 1.2-pound range.
