livingdebJust watched the last episode of Firefly. Extremely scary bad guy. Good lines. "I am not on the ship. I am of the ship. I am the ship."
At the same time, my sister and I were making tissue paper flowers for her wedding. She had one of those fancy wedding magazines that showed that if, after you fold the eight layers of tissue paper like a fan you then cut crenelations in the shape of petals, the flowers look even cooler.
Before that supper.
Before that a day of work so mind-numbingly boring that I was nodding off. Click on next form. See that there is no information on it that needs to be entered into the mainframe. Click on the worksheet. Wait. Click on the check-all-the-boxes link. Wait. Close the window. Click on the I'm-done-with-this-now button. Click on the yes-I-know-it-will-be-disappearing-out-of-my-inbox-now button. Wait. Press the back button twice (because of a bug). Then I'm ready to click on the next form.
For a while I rewarded myself by allowing myself to read a paragraph from the student paper each time I finished another form. Pathetic.
Sometimes it wasn't boring. Twice I went back to the guy who collects the forms to clarify whether there were typos or if the form was just reflecting some sort of sick reality. (Both probably typos.)
At work a co-worker also told me about his trip to Vermont and surrounding areas. He recommended Jet Blue for inexpensive direct flights. He recommended driving through the White Mountain National Forest between Montpelier, VT and Portland ME and stopping at all the scenic overlooks. And he recommended Northampton in eastern Massachusetts as a nice laid-back college town with good, affordable vegetarian restaurants.
Before that I mailed off taxes with the proper postage. If you don't have the proper postage, and you don't have a return address, you will pay dearly.
Before that I felt nice and energetic walking to the bus and to work, which is just lovely after feeling a bit sick for days.
