It snowed big, fluffy, wet flakes today. While I was out, it wasn't sticking, since it was 40 degrees F. But now there's a light dusting of it on the grass and vehicles and it looks nice nestled amongst the neighborhood Christmas lights.
Exercise update - Yesterday I jogged. I like jogging because it's definitely aerobic, it's a useful skill, like if you're about to miss a bus, and I can think and also check out my neighbor's houses for ideas. I jogged for the first time in a really long time about three weeks ago. Then I jogged again more recently (not sure when); that time I jogged my whole three-mile route that I feel is a good distance for me. Normally it takes a while to work my way back up to that distance. But I used the strategy that I figured out in high school which is if I just go slowly enough, I can go for a long time. (The first mile is the hardest--once I can do that, I can usually go longer.) Unfortunately, I didn't time myself, so I don't know exactly how slow that was.
Well, yesterday, I did time myself. When I am in shape, I can do this run in 30 minutes. Yesterday it took me 45 minutes. That feels amazingly terrible to me. But it was way less terrible than all those days that I didn't jog at all! Also, it was raining and cold (to me--in the low 40s) and I wanted to wait for the rain to stop, but it didn't stop and I went anyway. So I also feel kind of awesome. Plus, knowing this terrible speed will help me realize that a lot of my future terrible speeds are actually improvements.
I also joined R and Indigo Rose for a walk. We met at IKEA and did 3 laps. I did say I wanted to do exercise beyond walking and I did. But I also want to be out of a chair enough to get at least 10,000 steps, and this walk put me over that minimum. And I like the socializing. We also sometimes find something cool to buy there.
