I've been thinking it might be amusing to have some "fashion" blog posts. Today's might be something like this:

Once again I am excited to wear my mom jeans, accented as usual by tucking my shirt in completely and wearing a sturdy leather belt. I'm also excited that my red and blue plaid shirt is clean again, so I'm wearing that, which means I get to wear my necklace with the blue jean lapis and odd colored freshwater pearls. My sparkly stud earrings of choice for today are the ones that sometimes look blue and sometimes look purple because there are multiple blues in the shirt. I'll go with the blue glasses because they're still out from yesterday. I still have long, frizzy hair, so I'll partially tame that with a barrette on one side. And of course, I'll finish off my ensemble with sneakers.

You know the difference between me and other frumpy dressers? I make this look good.

Interesting that you have multiple pairs of glasses. Are they reading glasses or do you wear glasses regularly/all the time?

I always think that it would be fun to have multiple pairs but pretty quickly my face becomes my-face-with-these-glasses and the idea of switching them up is like wearing a different nose.

I get my glasses very inexpensively online except for the shipping, and you pay the same shipping no matter how many pairs you get, so last time I got four pairs, all different. I used to just wear the black/neutral ones all the time, but I lost them. So now I normally wear the blue ones or the red ones--wearing the same ones every day until they clash, then switching over to the other ones. I also have same light green cat-eye glasses.

I need my glasses for distance viewing. In practice that means driving, watching TV or movies, and going to class. Oh, and shopping. I am technically wearing them during most waking hours, but from a chain around my neck or hooked into my shirt. I get a headache if I wear them on my face too long.

I completely agree that switching them is like wearing a different nose! That's partly why I went to just wearing the same pair at work--I got tired of the comments. But now it's party time every day!

Retirement party time of random eyeglass switching--I love it.

Headaches if worn too long?

l had this problem. I told my eye doctor (which is my suggestion to you) and he fixed it. Evidently my eyes point in different directions and my brain doesn't like that when my sight is corrected enough to my brain to notice.

Thanks!

For me, I think it's actually correlated with weight. Evidence: 1) It happens with non-prescription sunglasses. 2) It's much less of a problem with modern light-weight glasses.
