Wherein I Get a Smiley Face
Dec. 7th, 2012 11:54 pmNo post yesterday. I was asleep most of the time I wasn't at work.
Today I returned a call about my annual check-up. My doctor knew I had requested to get all the numbers in the mail, but she still wanted my best phone number to contact me in case there was something bad.
Turns out there wasn't anything bad really. (Potassium a little low but stable, total cholesterol a little high.)
Woot! I was pretty worried about my thyroid, but it's good, and I still don't have to worry about diabetes, either.
However, my HDL ("good") cholesterol was very good. You want it to be above 40 and it was 104. In fact, the nurse said is was the best she had ever seen. So that's when I asked if I get a smiley face and she said yes. She also said to keep doing what I'm doing.
Ha! That's a bad idea. Actually, I guess what I'm doing is having nice genes. So, I guess I should, uh, minimize the X-rays and keep using sunscreen. (Not keep doing too little exercise, eating too many calories, especially ones made out of sugar, and eating too little produce).
