I did enough exercise today.

I walked about 53 minutes including 33 carrying a knapsack and gym bag. I lifted some weights at the gym with a friend until my arms were rubbery and my stomach hurt and my thighs needed stretching. We stretched before and after the weight lifting.

Then Robin and I took some lessons in west coast swing, with lots of dancing and not much standing around listening. Then we had some lessons in bolero--that dance uses every leg muscle and some other interesting ones. My back already aches (from a back machine at the gym plus standing up straight trying to stay balanced during bolero). Some of the dancing was even aerobic, though I never got in 20 minutes in a row. I did take off my jacket, though, so it definitely added up enough to warm me up.

I might not feel so great tomorrow. It would be better if I spread these things out a bit.

My gym friend does sun salutations every day. She does two in the morning and six at night. The morning ones help her warm up her stiff muscles; the evening ones help her prevent stress headaches.

I've decided I'd like to do push-ups and squats every day. These would make up a very quick mini-workout because squats use all kinds of muscles below the waist and push-ups use lots of muscles above the waist. However, what happens is that I get some important things done like dishes or cooking or journal writing, and then I think I want to relax and have fun so I read or watch a movie or something, then I'm so sleepy that it feels really good just to fall into bed. So I do.

In the morning I am very weak--any kind of exercise is even more laughable than usual. I need to work on getting a better bedtime routine.

But not today. I'm going to go fall into bed now. That is going to feel so good!
