Food for Theatres

The chefs at our local drafthouse theatres have not taken sufficiently into consideration the fact that their foods will be eaten in the dark by people who are watching a movie and who have the food either on a far away ledge or in their laps.
For example, they stopped having cheesecake which is easy to eat, easy to stop eating during the exciting parts, and easy to start eating again much later. But they do have molten chocolate cake a la mode which is drippy and which quickly melts during exciting parts of movies, thus becoming even more drippy.
I heard a friend make the same observation, but his example was that chips (with queso) are too loud. During the suspenseful parts of the movie, there's a distracting crunch, crunch, crunch.
P.S. "Avatar" is an amazing movie. Not perfect; it's yet another special effects movie. But the special affects are amazing, and the movie is pretty, and there is an actual plot, and even people who aren't into social sciences like it. It's gripping enough that being long is a good thing. We all agree there are plot holes, but we don't agree on what they are, which is interesting.
I think it would be better in 3-D than 2-D, but if you can only see it in 2-D, you won't be missing too much. However, if you can only see it in black and white or on a crappy YouTube-quality monitor, that would be very sad. Do empty your bladder before the movie. One friend recommended eating something salty to help you retain your fluids!
