I have been working on my boring goals to fix stuff.

How exciting is it that I got some more file folders?

These allowed me to split up my recipe hanging file on "breads" into biscuits; corn bread and other grains; garlic bread, toast, and pizza; muffins; pancakes; quick breads; yeast breads; and other breads (tortillas, bagels).

And I was able to split up my "other grains" file into cereal (granola, oatmeal, breakfast bars); dressing, stuffing, and savory bread pudding; pasta; rice; and other grains (grits, polenta).

Then I decided to file my "vegetarian main dishes" by protein source: beans and lentils; cheese and other dairy; eggs; nuts and peanuts; tofu; and other.

Actually, something exciting did happen. I found my long-lost recipe for Jack's mom's vegetarian meatloaf. I'm not sure that I'll be able to find all the ingredients or even that I'll quite understand what to do with them once I find them, but I quite enjoyed that meatloaf out of her fridge that one day and have high hopes.

I'm just boggling at having enough recipes to need to sort out e.g. biscuits from cornbread. Are these recipes you actually use or a mix of recipes you have use and have set aside with the idea that you will use? In any case, kudos on working on your boring goals. :)

The recipes I actually use are in a three-ring binder. The ones in files are ones I might want to try. Having a whole folder of, say, biscuit recipes is kind of messed up, but I still haven't found the ideal recipe yet, and I started collecting recipes before the internet became the obvious place to look. Plus biscuits come in all kinds of flavors.

I need a new recipe file. My recipes are all on 3x5 index cards in a index card box. Maybe I just need a set of index card dividers. I think the dividers came with the box and they are old and hard to read now. I understand the need for the breads to be sectioned. Maybe a section for yeast breads versus muffins and pancakes and crackers and waffles and other nationalities breads like Indian pancakes and lavash bread. I think my bread section is almost as big as desserts and cookies already have their own section.
