Getting Angry Sort of Keeps Me Warm

livingdebAt first, it hardly seemed like a trend. I merely misjudged the weather, which had turned out to be cooler than I had expected (30s instead of 40s), so I was wearing a coat and scarf instead of a thick coat, scarf, and hat, as I would have preferred. This actually mattered because I was outside a fair amount today. (My pedometer currently reads 16,943 steps, and those were mostly outside. Normally, there's no guarantee I'll get in 10,000 steps on a Monday.)
I ran most of the way to the bus stop but once again watched the bus go by from the wrong side of the street. This time I was less than 500 yards away. (At this time of year, there are no shuttle buses running at any decent times in the morning, so that was a one-mile jog. So, it's good for me. I walked to the next stop looking at the houses for good renovation ideas. Mostly I fantasize about a dishwasher, but sometimes I want multiple extra bedrooms, for multiple extra hobbies. I didn't get any good ideas.)
I found myself wearing navy socks with black pants and black shoes. Stupid dim lights at home. (Or: stupid bright lights at work.)
A job I wanted to apply to was still open, so I wrote up a new version of my resume and a new cover letter. It was an above-average cover letter, probably because this job description sounded closer to what I have done than most job descriptions. I convinced myself they might actually want to interview me. (Do you hear a "but" coming?) By 5:27, the job was closed, so I did not get to apply after all. Note to self: Jobs clearly close at 5:00 p.m. Oh, well, the job didn't pay well anyway.
I can't find my glasses. I hope I left them in my office at work.
