Yesterday I had a hint of sore throat. Today I had a worse sore throat. And I wasn't in the mood to leave the house either day. Bleh.

Today I did get some stuff done, though. I went through all the clothes in my dresser and removed enough so that the rest will all fit. I've done this before, but apparently there was lots of laundry in the basket last time, and when most of the clothes are clean, there wasn't room for all of them.

It's weird admitting to myself that I never wear certain things. Like the cool Austin Lounge Lizards t-shirt I recently bought and like the shirt I recently un-dyed. So sad. They're now in my box of spares, in case later a similar shirt wears out or I get shorts that go perfectly or something like that.

I added some things to my give-away pile. And I boxed up the rest, labeling the boxes on four sides as: too small, spares, needs mending, and needs refashioning. I even listed each thing that was in the box on one side of the box. I think of the refashion bag mainly as spare fabric. I probably should just dump that, except maybe for my red silk jacket which really should turn into a tissue box cover, jewelry box cover, or something like that. Baby steps.

I like almost everything about refashioning except for the way it can lead you to hold on to some item with the hope (fantasy) that you will turn it in to something wonderful...some day. I have a built-in deadline for this, fortunately, since I will be moving (probably across the country) next summer, and I have determined that any un-refashioned items in the pile will be sent to Goodwill before I leave.

Deadlines. That's a good idea. I'm thinking of a plan where every so often, I have to either refashion something from my stash or toss something from my stash. Interesting.

I've just decided that the pants I'm wearing, the zipper of which just broke today, is going in the trash. Mostly because they're not that great of a color. Still, a small victory.
