Three-Dishwasher System
Mar. 11th, 2008 10:00 pmAnd now the entry you've all been waiting for.
As I said before, Aunt M and Uncle D decided that dishwashers didn't cost much more than bottom cabinets, so they got three when they re-did their kitchen.

The system is quite simple. Two are always labeled clean, and one is dirty. When the dirty one gets full, run it and change the label from dirty to clean. Then, empty whichever of the other two is emptiest into the other clean dishwasher and change its label from clean to dirty.
Mostly just dishes, glasses, and silverware are in here. Less commonly used items will be put away in a cabinet rather than transferred to the other clean dishwasher.
I assume this system works fine with two people and it also worked fine while we were there.
