The rules:

1. Pick 15 movies you know/like/love.
2. Go to IMDb and find a quote from each movie.
3. Post them here for everyone to guess.
4. Strike it out when someone guesses correctly, and put who guessed it and the movie.
5. NO GOOGLING/using IMDb search functions.

1. "I'd be the worst possible Godfather. I'd probably drop her on her head at her christening. I'd forget all her birthdays until she was 18. Then I'd take her out and get her drunk. And, let's face it, quite possibly try and shag her." - Will, "About a Boy," a team effort: rvman + grieve

2. "They say rubber's mainly for perverts. Don't know why. Think it's very practical, actually. I mean, you spill anything on it and it just comes off. I suppose that could be why the perverts like it." - Scarlett

"Who's the boy over there? In the grey?"
"Name's David."
"He's something of a dish, isn't he?"
"I've always thought so."
"Why are they... why are they... [talking in sign language]?"
"Oh, the dish can't hear."
"Gosh..."
"Yeah. Silent, but deadly attractive."
- Serena and Matthew, "Four Weddings and a Funeral," raaga123

3. "Well, technically speaking, the operation is brain damage, but it's on a par with a night of heavy drinking. Nothing you'll miss." - Howard, "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind," Tam

4. "Well, I wouldn't argue that it wasn't a no holds barred, adrenaline fueled thrill ride. But, there is no way you can perpetrate that amount of carnage and mayhem and not incur a considerable amount of paperwork." - Nicholas, "Hot Fuzz," sparkylibrarian

5. "I know shit's bad right now, with all that starving bullshit, and the dust storms, and we are running out of french fries and burrito coverings. But I got a solution." - the President, "Idiocracy," raaga123

6. "Yeah, it's always heartwarming to see a prejudice defeated by a deeper prejudice." Mickey, "Lone Star," grieve

7. "This is a tough decision here. Get my ass kicked or collect $200. Let me think... I could use a good ass-kickin', I'll be very honest with you... nah, I think I'll just go with the two hundred."

"Are we to believe that boiling water soaks into a grit faster in your kitchen than in anyplace on the face of the earth?"
"I don't know."
"Well, perhaps the laws of physics cease to exist on your stove. Were these magic grits?"

-Mostly Vinny, "My Cousin Vinny," cartaufalous

8. "I have the utmost respect for your nerves. They've been my constant companion these twenty years." - Mr. Bennett, "Pride and Prejudice," raaga123

9. "Mother doesn't like me playing Beethoven. She says I'm always peevish afterwards." - Lucy

"I shall never forgive myself."
"You always say that, Charlotte. And then you always do forgive yourself."

"Remember the facts about this church of Santa Croce; how it was built by faith in the full fervour of medievalism."
"Built by faith indeed! That simply means the workers weren't paid properly."

"A Room with a View," cartaufalous

10. "You know, secondhand smoke kills." - Hilary Faye "I'm counting on it." - Cassandra

"Mary, you want to go out sometime?"
"What? Are you going to take me out on your scooter?"
"Come on, I'm like, totally adorable, besides, it would drive Hilary Faye crazy."
"I can't. I'm... not dating right now."
"What about tomorrow night? Will you be dating then?"
- Patrick and Mary, "Saved!," raaga123

11. "This is the captain. We have a little problem with our entry sequence, so we may experience some slight turbulence and then - explode." - Mal, "Serenity," llcoolvad

12. "I'm 6'3", and maintain a very consistent panda bear shape." - Louis Fyne, "True Stories," chikuru

13. "My regime? The regime from which the radicals are trying to get free? Are we selling face cream or staging a coup?" - Abby, "The Truth About Cats and Dogs," grieve

14. "Children are strange and foreign to me. I never really was one. I do know that they are an important part of the ecosystem." - Count Olaf

"All that I ask is that you do every little thing that pops into my head, while I enjoy the enormous fortune your parents left behind." - Count Olaf, "Lemony Snicket's Series of Unfortunate Events," Sally's mom

15. "Now, a few words on looking for things. When you go looking for something specific, your chances of finding it are very bad. Because of all the things in the world, you're only looking for one of them. When you go looking for anything at all, your chances of finding it are very good. Because of all the things in the world, you're sure to find some of them." - Daryl Zero, "The Zero Effect," grieve

#11 Serenity! And I am officially stumped on the others. I have definitely heard #15, but I don't know what it was in. I have also heard #9, but again, can't think of it.

Wow, #9 and #15 are some of my more obscure movies. Although the more obscure and the older the movie, the less likely IMDb will have many quotes.

I think #3 is Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.

12. Dave's favorite movie, True Stories.

I didn't know it was your favorite. Too bad they didn't have that joke about Texans liking it like this in there. Or even the quote about the cube being a good architectural shape.

"I know! I'll just make some people who like it this way."

"It's a multipurpose shape--a box."

If I rank movies according to the number of times I've seen them, which seems like a good objective way to do it, then it is definitely my favorite.

There really aren't many movies I feel the need to see multiple times. True Stories and Office Space are exceptional that way.

(rvman)...and number 6, I'm 'hearing' in Hugh Jackman's voice? X-Men 3, anyway?

I was beaten to 3, 4, and 11 (though I have not seen "Hot Fuzz," given the context of this quiz, I think it has to be that).

#15 is really familiar seeming - I am going to take a stab on it, though I have little confidence in my guess - "Big Fish"?

Sorry, not "Big Fish." You have seen it though. Most of these movies are old Robin favorites, too, afterall.
