There's got to be a story behind this sign. I'm guessing, since this is the US, somebody sued a hotel when the finish on their car was damaged. And that inspired the hotel to set up a bit of a nature education program in their parking lot.

Generally, people park under trees in Texas because it is cooler in your car if you park in the shade. However, large white blotches all over the pavement are good indicators of what a car will look like in a few hours.
