Random Stuff

I'm in the middle of some good books now, which I will review when I am finished if I have anything to say.

I'm still working on my lasted knitted square, which I will take pictures of for you when I am finished.

We just watched the third season of "Prime Suspect," a very intense TV show that doesn't really allow for proper knitting to happen simultaneously. I love the way the main character really assumes the best about her colleagues and it so far has worked out well.

We tried a new (to us) Chinese place and think it is fine but not great.

For my birthday I have received a drawing of a wombat and a drawing of a dolphin.

I was reminded that boring work tasks + sleepiness do not equal an ideal combination.

Hope it was a good birthday! I heard tell of your observed b-day occurring six months later, and I like that idea. I may just institute such an observed holiday for myself.

It was a pretty good idea except that the weather isn't much better in July than it is in August. And then Robin's real birthday turns out to be the day before my observed birthday, so things could be better.

However, I really like that I get calls (or surprise visits) from relatives and a free pastry from La Madelleine and cake from co-workers at one time of year, and then my party or whatever at a different time of year. And then people aren't calling during my party, so I can better appreciate their calls.

You have to sign up for whatever they call their customer program, and they'll e-mail you a coupon good any day of the month of your birthday.
