Death and Life
Nov. 17th, 2007 03:35 pmWe saw "No Country for Old Men," the new Coen brothers movie, today. (It's not that new, but this was its first weekend in my town.) It's another movie about people getting killed. Because that's what I want to see, day in and day out, is loads of people getting killed.
It has very interesting characters and a plot that sucks you in. It explores questions of good and evil and what to do with your life. It's scary.
Critics love it. R and J love it. I am getting burnt out on cold-blooded killer movies, though. Also, you can't bleed at that rate and live that long.
If you like this kind of movie, I highly recommend it. If you don't really, but someone makes you choose between several, I recommend this one. If you like Tommy Lee Jones, you won't get enough of him, but he's his usual good self.

I ordered a black walnut tree months ago and it was scheduled to arrive this month, the best time of year for planting/transplanting trees in my area. (Here, it's the summer that's the harsh season, so you want to give plants the whole winter to dig their heels in.) It arrived yesterday. Robin and I (mostly Robin) just planted it, right in the nick of time before the rain started.
And tonight I get to go to a birthday party.
I'm glad the life parts of this entry are about my life and the death parts are just in a movie. Oh, except that I am unlikely to be posting over the next week with internet access being costly and time-consuming.
And now it's time to pack my computer. Bye now!
