Today we went to Z Tejas for brunch with C and S. (Note to self: next time, don't even order anything off the menu. Just ask for the apple bran muffin and the fruit bowl. It's enough for breakfast and is the yummiest part of most things I've ordered.)

Then we went to C's house to play her new game, Cashflow 101. This game is supposed to teach you how to get rich, but it costs $200 and is associated with the Rich Dad Poor Dad guy, thus biased toward real estate, so there's plenty of fodder for eye rolling right there.

Then there are some major flaws, like there is no way to increase your income at your day job, nor is there any way to reduce your expenses from what they are at the start of the game. You learn that what matters most are the cash flow and down payment of an investment and how good your luck is.

Still, if you don't mind doing some math and don't take the game too seriously as a learning tool for real life, it's a pretty good game of the Monopoly or Farming Game genre. Especially once you figure out the way to quickly audit someone else's game sheet.

Tonight we're going to see the new Harry Potter movie in 3-D on the IMAX screen.
