Bagel Time

Would you rather hear about three classes taught by the same department at the same place and the same time, two with one professor, one with another, and it turns out they are all different? Or would you rather hear about an Easter egg hunt?

Let me guess.

We had an egg hunt in our office at 10:00. Volunteers had donated plastic eggs and treats small enough to fit inside the eggs. Other volunteers had filled the eggs and hidden them in the office passageways. I found loads of eggs; some found more; I feared many found less. I decided to keep my four favorites and re-hide the rest.

The eggs were different colors of course and different patterns. But also different shapes--I got one shaped like a carrot.

All of them had chocolate inside. Yea! I approve of all of it: Reese's peanut butter bunnies, malted milk eggs, regular peanut butter cups, tiny Snicker's bars, and Twix.

And one of my eggs also contained one of the four "special prizes." Woo hoo! There were two gift certicates to the ubiquitous coffee place and two to Einstein Bros. Bagels. I got one of the bagel certificates, which is just what I wanted since I like bagels but I don't like coffee or coffee-flavored things and I try (feebly) to stay away from sweets made mostly from butter.

I don't think I've ever actually bought anything from this bagel place before, though I have tasted their bagels at meetings. So, a tiny nonscary adventure lies in my future.

After the hunt, if we didn't want to keep our plastic egg shells, we could return them to be stored for next year's egg hunt. Yea, recycling!

The only bad part of the activity was that the activity seemed quite individual. Every man for himself, stalking the wild carpeted frontier for the taunting eggs. I didn't talk to the other folks much.
