We started the day with lots of relaxing. We slept late. Lazed around in bed until brunch time. Ate huge piles of food. Came home and had a nap.

Then we got productive. I watered some plants, cleaned the kitchen, did laundry, framed a picture and hung it, sorted through some books, framed another picture, made banana bread, and did dishes. We uploaded the software for my Psion Revo (handheld computer) on Robin's computer and backed it up.

Robin got rid of large, empty boxes and found pilot lights on the new stove and figured out how to control them (I helped). Robin has vowed that we will never go out to eat again; we will just cook fabulous things on our new stove. We will be losing those extra pounds right away.

Meanwhile, we tried for brunch and a movie at the Texas History Museum, but decided they weren't doing brunch anymore, since all the doors were locked and we couldn't see anyone inside and we didn't see any signs about brunch. Apparently we were wrong since brunch is listed as happening this Sunday on their web page. No problem, we went to El Chile Cafe instead. Robin and I both highly recommend the enchiladas verde; and if we both really like it, it must be some kind of miracle food. Then it was too late to see the movie. Oh, well. For supper we tried the prepared foods section of the newly rebuilt Whole Foods downtown. The things we tried were not yummy enough for the money.

But then I got two things from Whole Foods I had never seen before. One was sugar that is so unprocessed that it still has iron in it. This went into the banana bread. Did you know you can substitute real sugar for processed sugar, whole grain pastry flour for white flour, and squash baby food for half the butter and banana bread still comes out fluffy and delicious? With actual iron (sugar) and vitamin A (squash) as well as potassium (bananas) in it. And, you know, lots of excess calories you probably don't need.

The other new thing I found was organic nonfat powdered milk. The closest I'd seen before were organic nonfat milk, powdered milk, and nonfat organic powdered soy milk. Now I can make my own organic condensed skim milk. For pumpkin pie! Of course! Another yummy source of vitamin A. Unfortunately, these things were both amazingly expensive.

It's so nice to go into the new work week with a clean kitchen, plenty of clean laundry, space in the living room for dancing, and a loaf of banana bread.

And speaking of work, I looked up some web sites that Robin admires and they all use tables for at least the basic formatting. So I guess I was being a little overly optimistic with the CSS float command at work. I'll try playing with it a little more before I give up, but I have heard all kinds of sources advising using one table for basic layout, and this would still be a big improvement. I was just hoping for better.
