Robin spent all day cleaning out the garage. Except when he was eating or recovering from the heat.

I, um, renewed library books. Online. I felt I should be doing something productive, too. I did dishes. I looked at my pile of stuff by the door. Ugh, don't want to deal with that. I did laundry. I looked at the books I am deciding about before tossing them, and then looked into a better place to put them but couldn't figure out any way to make room. So I played solitaire. I sorted today's mail. (This involved opening one piece of junk mail, the contents of which I know how to find online, and depositing it in the recycle bin.)

I did garden for 80 minutes.

What I generally mean by "garden" is yanking hundreds of defenseless plants out of the ground. In this case it amounted to about six square feet of aggressively spreading deep-rooted grass, giant exploding itchy clump grass, tiny aggressively spreading clump grass, and grass that will grow ten feet high and grow roots to the other side of the street. I got several mosquito bites which I treated right away and they don't bother me anymore, plus I got no blisters and no sunburn, so I am the winner!

I'm sure the backs of my legs will be sore tomorrow. By the way, if someone ever tells you the backs of their legs are sore and they don't know why, just look at them wisely and ask, "Have you been weeding recently?" It was great fun when I appeared all-knowing to one of my friends, so I highly recommend it.

I tried to save the dandelions, the low-growing blobby non-aggressive ground cover, and the stuff that looks like tiny lily pads. I saw that my transplanted sunflowers are not taking. I tried to transplant a pecan that decided to grow in a corner bounded by a sidewalk on one side and a curb on the other.

My other plants are really liking the rain we've been having. They're flowering all over the place and getting big and bushlike, as if I'm a real gardener. And my peach tree has several peaches that are one inch in diameter and already pretty red and yellow colors. I've never yet seen a fruit on my tree get to be over about two and half inches in diameter. I'm not sure if animals or human neighbors are getting to them first or what. Maybe one day.
