Stylish Pants
Jun. 13th, 2007 11:10 pmApparently I never hit the "submit" button yesterday. Sorry, folks.
Today I wore some pants that were a little too stylish for my tastes. I wasn't careful enough in ordering them online. The waistline is lower than I'm used to, the thighs tighter, and the legs more flared.
I'm used to pants clinging to my body in a certain way, and this isn't it. The low waist makes me feel like the pants are in danger of falling off. I can't buckle my belt where I normally do; it's several holes looser. The tighter fit in the thigh make me feel like I'm walking around with really gigantic thighs. Everywhere I go, my gigantic thighs are right there, screaming to the world, "Hey, look at me! Look at me!" And my shirt keeps coming untucked in the back. At work it's covered by my jacket, but it still feels weird.
The pants look fine on me, probably good even. This style should be ideal for someone like me who has a foot of difference in circumference between waist and hips--you don't have to find pants to fit both, just to fit the hips. But who knew pants could be disconcerting?

on 2007-06-14 01:42 pm (UTC)As long as your pants are not so low waisted as to show off your thong, you're doing fine.
