Office Temperatures

livingdebI used my new thermometer to measure temperatures all over my cube. As I mentioned yesterday, the window sill is ten degrees cooler than my computer area. Similarly, the floor by my feet is seven degrees cooler than my computer area. This means I should wear very warm shoes at work. All I need are some nice fur-lined hip waders. Very professional.
But that's all with the vent fan off. Once the vent fan is on, all these areas warm up to between 68 and 70 degrees. Still a bit chilly, but perfectly reasonable in the winter. I'm afraid I'm going to waste energy and keep that vent fan on all day rather than finding fur-lined footwear.
I'll also tell the guy in my office who is in charge of this kind of stuff (as well as a million other things), but he seems about as ignorant about this sort of thing as I am and thus unlikely to come up with any better plan.
