Holiday Plans
Dec. 22nd, 2006 03:48 pmAt my job I get lots of days off around the holidays, and since I usually don't have to travel, and it's cold, and everything is closed, I like to have a project to do.
This year it's not actually going to be cold. Sure, it's getting down into the thirties at night, but during the day, it's supposed to be getting up near 60. Totally awesome for the dead of winter.
I don't have any particular project in mind that I could finish in a week, so instead, my plan is to do a little bit of several things each day.
1. Jog.
2. Garden for at least 30 minutes.
3. Clean for at least 30 minutes.
4. Fix something for at least 30 minutes. By fix something, I mean mend something, turn something unusable into something usable, make something, re-organize something--it's very broad.
5. Write in that finances-for-teens book.
6. And of course write a journal entry.
I expect some of these "at least 30 minute" things to expand into seriously getting something done, which will be cool.
Entry of the Day - 10 Best Self-Made Christmas Trees at Personal Financial Advice. I love this entry! I think the most beautiful one is the one made from soda cans. My favorite one--and most of them are pretty favorite, is #4, made of just stuff from around the house. I think I like this best because I identify with this person the most. I don't have a million matching magazine holders, but I could certainly come up with something like this. #10 made me think "Chanukkah bush" because it's like a Christmas tree and a menorah at the same time. Read this if you want to smile or if you're feeling too poor to have a tree.
