Office Party

livingdebI get to go to many holiday parties at my job. Today was the one for my office. (Other offices have open-house type parties, and I get invited to some of these. I also get to go to some for professional organizations on campus.) We got to close the office down and have a potluck.
There were crossword puzzles and word-finds on the tables. Our head guy came around asking us crossword-related questions. My favorite interchange was when he asked the answer to "action performed beneath mistletoe" and he got the suggestion "SSN remediation." Hee hee! (Because we do SSN remediation everywhere!)
Another odd activity was to pick something from a list of words and draw it on a paper and then pass it on. I started the one at my table by drawing a wreath made of holly leaves and berries. Then I checked holly and wreath off the list. It turns out we had an artist at our table who could draw an awesome Santa head and reindeer. She also drew a pretty nice poinsettia and other things I forget. It turns out I can draw a recognizable Grinch face. It helps that we had a green pencil available.
The food was fine (a potluck). My favorite dish was some kind of pineapple casserole. It must be hideously unhealthy because it's so delicious. I'm afraid to ask for the recipe. There was crunchy, sugary stuff on top. Mmm.
I saved two cookies and a brownie for tomorrow. Plus lots of my own cheesy rice casserole.
