Nice Day Off
Nov. 23rd, 2006 10:48 pmA lovely day. I got up and did dishes while I was still in the mood. Then I jogged because I knew I wouldn't be in the mood after Thanksgiving dinner.
I know you're not supposed to skip breakfast because it just makes you want to eat more later on. But I knew I'd be eating more later on regardless, so I skipped breakfast. There is something to be said for putting a little something in your belly before you jog though. I did 10 minutes before wimping out.
I peered into the windows of a house that's for sale in my neighborhood on the way back from jogging. I like to see what other people do to houses like mine. They redid the entire floor in bamboo. Cool. And painted all the walls tan. It does look more sophisticated than my house. I probably won't copy either of these ideas, though. I like how bamboo is fabulously renewable, but I'm a real sucker for hardwood floors, especially the parquet floors that periodically go on sale at Home Depot for $1 per square foot. And tan is a fine interior color, but I like others better.
Then six of us met at Hyde Park for their Thanksgiving feast for $15. (Actually everyone but me paid extra for wine and/or dessert.) I greatly enjoyed their turkey, dressing, and gravy. Also ate the cranberry sauce and part of the roll. Skipped the snap peas. Put half the turkey/gravy/dressing and roll plus all the mashed potatoes in my tupperware. And that's what I ate the rest of the day. Yum! T. also gave me a bite of pumpkin pie with whipped cream. Delic.
I was, shall we say, relaxed the rest of the day. I read some more comic. I played some sudoku. Practiced some guitar. Watched a DVD. Talked to my mom on the phone. Did more dishes and some laundry. And wrote this.
