My friend who keeps up to date on political issues says this:
"Proposition 1 (which I support) is trying to blunt some of the unintended consequences of how we fund (or don't) public schools.
"Proposition 2 will add even more property tax exemptions (via school district homestead exemption increases). I'm opposed to this one, primarily because I believe we SHOULD A pay more for schools. If TX did a better job of it, I'd be ok with larger exemptions. But TX doesn't, so I don't.
"City of Austin Prop A is a citizen referendum to decriminalize marijuana possession, and ban no-knock warrants.
"Those warrants in Austin are quite rare, and most courts/LEO here don't bother with personal possession of weed, so it won't have a huge impact. But vote anyway. I'm supporting this.
"Early vote started today, and runs through May 3rd. Election day is May 7th."
