Thanks for the input. So why are you supporting limiting appointees? I'm feeling pretty ignorant about this one.
The Austin Chronicle has added their amendment endorsements. They also oppose these kinds of amendments but could understand voting for the property tax exemption ones, though they'd "prefer the creation of a fair taxation system," whatever that means. And they like Prop 3 on term limits "making more certain they would be subject to regular Senate confirmation."
On Prop 4 on the notification and waiting period for constitutionality cases, they are vehemently opposed: "A 2013 statutory version of this amendment was declared unconstitutional, so the Lege is asking the voters to overrule the Court of Criminal appeals. Hell no." And one of the commenters says, "the Rules already require the AGs office to be notified of any case involving the constitutionality of a statute. So there's no reason the AG should somehow be caught off guard - even if it weren't ridiculous to deny justice for 45 days."
