I have an iPhone with Dropbox installed (which also works fine on an Android phone) and I too can edit spreadsheets (Excel ones) without a problem. I can also cut and paste (on either type of phone) though it is not as simple as on a computer. It's also easy to keep any kind of notes you want in either an Android phone or an iPhone (and surely the same is true of a Windows phone).
You might enjoy something like a case with a built-in keyboard; here is an example of such a case for the Galaxy S5, but I'm sure they exist for many phones: http://www.amazon.com/TOP%C2%AE-Bluetooth-connecting-Detachable-Removeable/dp/B00JLK794A/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1424039939&sr=8-1&keywords=galaxy+s5+keyboard+case
I love having GPS, full access to the files I keep on Dropbox, all of my pictures and music, etc., plus services like Pandora, Facebook, Goodreads, access to the web, and so on, everywhere I go. You can pry my $45/month data-and-talk plan from my cold dead hands.
hmm
