Mom called today to invite me to come up for a weekend visit for her birthday this year. She got my "Aunt" Sharon to fly in for the occasion, and she wants us to see an exhibit of tapestries based on Don Quixote. Sounds pretty good. Except guess when her birthday is. November.
She also talked about wanting to get together for Thanksgiving again this year. And you know when Thanksgiving is. November.
And remember that I have a conference to go to. In November.
This is already going to be one of the most eventful Novembers of all time, even withouttrying to write writing a novel. Also I noticed that although there are almost no ballroom dance classes in December, classes do extend through the entire month of November.
It's a good thing I'm using some vacation time. Also, I am going to take the advice I am spewing at people I know who are still thinking about nanowrimo and just make sure to write a little bit every day, even if it's only for fifteen minutes. No matter what, you can always find fifteen minutes, right?
And on the Borg angle ("You will be assimilated!") there are three people who are still thinking they might actually try nanowrimo just because they've been thinking about it since I asked. (That would be my boyfriend, his sister, and my mother.) Actually, my brother also indicated some interest, though he seems less likely to, plus he couldn't officially participate because he won't have access to the internet.
What about you, my other readers? You know you want to!

Or you could think about it for next year.
