Hat Party

Tomorrow I get to go to a hat party. This reminds me of grad school when some of my friends decided that hat parties were the perfect way to get people to participate because it's easy to wear hats and it's easy to have extra hats around for people who don't have a hat or forget to bring a hat or whom you otherwise want to play around with.

Except that tomorrow is really a hat and surprise party. And the surprise is that the host is going to have a birthday hat ready for the hostess.

Once again, I have the perfect t-shirt for this party. (I'm on a roll now. For their plant exchange party, I wore my t-shirt with drawings of herbs, basically pulled out by their roots. For their food party, I wore my vegetarians-returning-from-the-hunt t-shirt, with guys working together to carry a very large carrot. For their water fun party, I wore my t-shirt with the trees and threatening sky and the lightning bolts.) For this party, I'm wearing my t-shirt with the Native American wearing a headdress that looks like an eagle's head. That's the coolest hat ever. Although I am also quite fond of the birthday cake hat I've seen and those dog-head-with-floppy-ears hats. Oh, and my dance teacher's chicken hat that is totally silly and which he threatens to make you wear if you keep letting your elbows get behind you in what he likes to call "poultry position."

So I've got the t-shirt, and I've got the hat. It's not so easy to think of hat-inspired party foods or games.

I - and most heterosexual men - can probably think of a perfect t-shirt for the female guests at such a party... the white t-shirt! :)

(And I haven't seen your vegetarians-returning=from-the-hunt tee, but it sounds great!)
