Best Snow Storm Ever
Feb. 24th, 2010 10:05 pmYesterday was my favorite snow storm ever. It had all the best things about snow without any of the bad things, at least for me.
It was warm (mid-30's). The snowflakes (or snow clumps) were gigantic--so pretty, and you could hear them landing on things.

It stuck on the grass, but not on the streets or sidewalks (except on overpasses). So, there was no shoveling, no digging out the car. I just walked through it, feeling it and watching it, without slipping or sloshing. And snow makes a pretty mulch:

People still managed to find enough snow to build snowmen (which disappeared in my snowman picture) and throw snowballs (clearly visible in my snowball picture, both in the sky and on the hedge), especially if you had access to the snow that built up so well in the back of people's pickups.

One of my friends says that northerners might make fun of our excitement, but even in Minnesota, they celebrate the first snow of the season. And this is our first snow of the season.
And now I leave you with an image of succulents in snow.
