Weird Work Stuff

1) My boss's boss is coming to watch me do data entry Friday morning because he wants specific details on why so many of our processes are still manual so he can lobby for more money for my section from his boss's boss.
2) There's a meeting a week from Wednesday hosted by the local state employee union about a proposal that a state Senate committee is considering which involves turning our pension into a defined contribution plan. What would I do if my golden handcuffs turned brass? At least with the new brassy color, they'd have to let us take the company matching with us if we left, right?
