Oops

Forgot to post yesterday. On Fridays I just have work, walking with friends, and that's all. I can do whatever I want the rest of the day.

So I read my friends' blogs, had supper, picked a place to take defensive driving, read a book for a while and went to sleep. For about twelve hours. I feel pretty well-rested now.

You don't want to hear about the course that was replaced by two courses, not because the two new courses each covered half the content of the old course, and not because the two new courses are both really the same course taught with slightly different perspectives, but because the professor used to teach the old course sometimes as one course and sometimes as the other, do you?

Our system is very flexible, but people are infinitely creative, so one of my job duties is fitting square pegs into round holes. I'd really rather do work that came out prettier when I was done. But I guess plenty of people who aren't bureaucrats have to settle for mediocre results just because they don't have the time or resources to do things as well as they'd like. I'd find that stressful in any job.

Hardly Any Mix-and-Match

Besides sleeping, I also walked to the library and returned my two books and got a couple of the give-away magazines and read them.

Then I had supper. Then I went dancing. Our Saturday dances are different now that we're in the new venue. It's something about how the room is set up. We now end up at a very small table with one other couple, and I mostly dance with Robin and the other man. The good news is that I really like the other couple and I really like dancing with Robin and the other man, who are two of my favorites. I still do Russian roulette cha cha, where I go and find someone random to dance with, but it's weird not to dance with more people.

And now it's almost bedtime. Short day!
