Changes for the Better (I Guess)
Jan. 31st, 2007 07:43 pmI have now officially applied for that job I found.
I have survived my financially rough month (I paid off the credit card I used to make all my charitable contributions for the year last month, and I paid cash for the HVAC system to get the discount). I am thinking I may need to increase my budget for car repairs and add a category for lending. But that means I will have to reduce something else. Probably long-term fun.
After all this ultimate, I still weigh the same, and it's only 5 pounds less than my all-time heaviest. However, my measurements are the same as my all-time biggest. I am apparently rather fluffy. It's time to change something else, too, besides having healthier snacks, bringing lunch to work, walking an extra couple of miles a day, and doing plenty of aerobic activity once a week. I'm working on 15 minutes of strength training per day, but it hasn't become habit yet. It just occurred to me to try grabbing one of those squeeze balls instead of snacks whenever I'm frustrated at work. We'll see if I can make that happen, or rather if I do make that happen.
My plan to try to leave an hour early for work is working. I don't actually leave an hour early for work, but I do leave early enough that I'm no longer arriving late or angry.
So, I have to spend less on money on fun, eat less, and spend less time at home in the morning. I would like to make some changes that are more fun.
I have a load of activities this weekend: an ultimate frisbee tournament (three games instead of two) during weather that will be cold and windy (wind chill in the teens perhaps) but not wet, winter league party, and two SuperBowl parties. At least one of the parties will be good. (Yes, it is the party of Chikuru and Raaga123 that I know will be good. I have a good game to bring to that party, too!)
