Too Much Water
May. 15th, 2006 10:25 pmThe weather here was lovely. Cool, breezy, sunny. I got to walk around outside in it a lot, too.
Meanwhile, my two readers from New England are both worried about their flooding basements. All this time I have been jealous of their basements, because of all the extra square footage. But basements flood, and this is expected. They have pumps! Where does the water get pumped to? Outside? To a storm drain? Sewer drain? Should I get such a pump for my house?
Last I heard, one of the basements had four feet of water in it, and it was still rising, and heading for the circuit breakers, and the fire department was recommending evacuation. Very scary.
Here's to all you folks who aren't reading right now because you're running around dealing with disaster in your homes.
