Vacation Plans, Part I
Dec. 26th, 2005 08:03 pmAs you may remember, I decided to spend one hour organizing something each day and one hour working in the yard.
Today wasn't exactly the right day to begin this plan because it turned out to be another great day for socializing. Even the mail carriers were off work today.
I got in about 40 minutes of organizing this morning. I cleaned the ceiling fan in the bedroom, changed the sheets, flipped the mattress, dusted, tossed my mobile that had gotten torn and jumbled, and started laying out clothes on the bed to organize them. Then my mom called, as I had requested. "Can you come over and play?"
Before leaving, I left a note for Robin that I would clean everything up before bedtime. I also hung up the laundry.
I visited with my family until it was time for tea with another friend. Then I socialized with her through the afternoon and half the evening.
When I got home, before 8:00, Robin was asleep in bed. The poor thing had to move my clothes out of the way! I wonder if he has that cold that's going around.
Journal entry of the day: Read Chris, Call Me, on Are We There Yet? for an interesting viewpoint on highway driving. "I have to confess that when it comes to city driving skilz, I live in rural Iowa and therefore do not have any." And in the very same entry, you get crank call comedy: "What is the world coming to when guys make obscene phone calls after 10 p.m.?? Where have the manners gone? After cracking up for a few minutes and then sobbing a little upon realizing that this was closest I have gotten to getting any in way too long, I took the phone off the hook and went back to sleep."
