Unbelievable
Sep. 1st, 2005 03:32 pmThree unbelievable news items. Two good ones:
1. My workplace, a state university known for its amazing levels of bureaucracy, is paving the way for students of flooded universities who are either residents of the state or high school graduates of the state to be admitted for the fall semester under a newly created special program.
2. The housing page of Craigslist New Orleans has been inundated with offers of free shelter for hurricane victims.
And a bad one:
3. There is not only looting of food in flooded areas, but looting of TVs (and there's no electricity). There is not only shooting of competing looters, but of everybody imaginable including hospital patients being evacuated. New Orleans has several war zones that even rescuers are avoiding.
