Thickening plot
Aug. 19th, 2005 09:52 pmI did e-mail the person who has the job I'm thinking of applying for. She can't do lunch but she can do coffee Monday afternoon.
Meanwhile, my boss pulled me aside for a quick meeting outside the building where he told me that he had gone through the process to change my job title from my current job title to that of the job I'm thinking of applying for. He said a big raise would come with it. We should know something in a couple of weeks.
And yes, I know this doesn't mean I should decide not to apply for the job!
It also means I now know whether my boss actually wants me to work there. He encourages me to apply for other jobs and I can't read him. So I never know if he likes me and wants me to do well, if he likes joking with me about applying for every opening he hears about, or if he kind of really wished I would take off so he could train someone to his exact specifications.
In other news, I got cake at work during the August birthday party and ice cream during the thank-goodness-we-finished-the-catalog party. Mmm, job perks.
Gotta go. I'm going to see Dar Williams at a show that wasn't in existence until 10:00 this morning.
