Back-up Systems
Jan. 19th, 2005 03:08 pmLots of my back-up systems have broken down lately. I'm the sort of person who deals with problems mainly through prevention and through back-up systems. In other words, planning. (I could use some more winging skills.)
Well, when the washer breaks, you can drive to a laundromat. Unless you have loaned your car to your sister.
When your roommate leaves an event early, he can come later and pick you up. Unless you later decide you want to leave early, too. In which case you could call him, unless you don't have the cell phone. In which case you could use a pay phone, unless the house phone is broken and the cell phone is off. In which case you can take the bus home and hope you get there before he leaves to pick you up.
Yes, my car is loaned, the washer was broken, the phone doesn't work, and now I can't find my purse. I'm 99% sure I lost it at home. But it seems good to at least check whether someone has been charging up my credit card. I could look that up online, but I can't remember my secret password. Code that reminds me of it is in my organizer, which is in my purse. I click the button that says to send me a new password. They require my credit card number. My credit card is in my purse. But the number is also on my bill. But then they want that other number that's in the signature space. Grr. I could call them but the phone is broken. I called from work. Still no charges. Whew.
This Christine Lavin song I'm in should be over soon, right?
