Today there was a coupon in the student paper for free fries if you bought a hot dog at Dog Almighty, a place that just opened last Friday in the location of a failed hot dog joint. You can get anything on the menu as a vegetarian item. I made a back-up plan in case the place was completely packed, but I was the only customer there when I first walked in. Several more folks came in during the thirty minutes I was there, but it was never a crowd.

I ordered a chili dog with the dog made of beef but the chili vegetarian. Oh, yes, I am bilingual. Later I learned you can get a whole wheat bun instead of a white one for an extra quarter. It was very tasty and filling and I will definitely go back next time I am in the mood for a chili dog. The fries were also good. They were of medium thickness and had spiced (chili powder?) salt on them.

After work I went to Body Flow. Then I came home to an invitation to a birthday party at a restaurant I've never been to, Madras Pavilion. We ordered many things and passed them around the table and I liked almost every single thing. Now I want to go again even though it's a vegetarian non-buffet Indian restaurant. I am no longer afraid of such a place because a) the menu has plenty of English and b) it's very difficult for even me to go wrong, even though I am picky. Thanks, birthday girl!

Then we went to a restaurant/bar where I was inspired to say, "The penguins are ready for mardis gras." I don't believe I've ever said that before. But there was this big wintery display, surrounded by penguins carrying cute little drinks and wearing feathers and things.
