Wellfest

Yesterday I went to a wellfest. This was not a celebration of hole-and-bucket water retrieval systems but rather a celebration of health and safety.

The most interesting things I got were a bottle of that alcohol cleaning gel, which you can use to clean your hands with no water or towels, and a tire pressure gauge. What does a tire pressure gauge have to do with wellness? If your tires are properly inflated, you use less gas, thus causing less pollution, and so the air is healthier to breathe. (And if your bicycle tires are improperly inflated, you use more energy to pedal and thus stay in better shape?)

I also got my body mass checked. The bad news is that I am now officially overweight. The good news is that the person taking the measurement insisted on taking it twice because it seemed too high. So did the person at the other table who was doing the same thing. So apparently my extra body fat is very cleverly hidden, disguised, or camouflaged and thus not causing me any problems on the social interaction front.

Still, now that the weather is getting better for outdoor exercise, it would be good to do some additional work toward fixing that problem.

Here's a good conversation I was in today:

"Is anything in the garage more important than having a workshop?"

"No."

That could have interesting repercussions.
