Running up the deficit to justify cutting social programs - that seems to be their main aim. I really don't understand it - it's like tax policy based on spite. I mean, they can't really believe that this will be good for the economy. And eventually the damage done to the economy will roll uphill and impact the rich as well as everybody else. Plus... do companies not understand that they need customers? If nobody has any money, they can't spend it.

Sigh.
