It sounds like not only can you not accept gifts from entities you regulate, you can't accept gifts from your own employer. At least you are allowed to accept paychecks and the use of office furniture, etc.
Isn't it odd how a policy that you can't receive gifts could actually be so difficult to deal with. So many people are giving stuff away.
